OAMS

Olympic Addiction Medicine Servies

About OAMS

Olympic Addiction Medicine Services (OAMS) is an out-patient service for those suffering from addiction. In association with Turning Point Recovery and Olympic Pain& Addiction Services (OPAS) it provides comprehensive and state licensed outpatient care for those with alcohol and drug disorders.

The goal of OAMS is the provision of the best in out-patient alcohol and drug services. An active and committed community that provides integrated care is required to properly address alcohol and drug disorders.

We Serve

Because medical care often works best coupled with a strong therapeutic alliance, our services will best help those who seek help for their alcohol or drug use. The nature of alcohol and drug disorders along with our traditional cultural responses have many prospective patients simply seeking ways to avoid punitive actions from courts, employers, and families.

We acknowledge that other settings and providers are more experienced and skilled with using coercive measures. Hence, OAMS is best suited for patients who want help for their disease. If our initial assessment reveals significant denial or resistance to treatment we will assist patients in their other choices.

Because of state mandated requirements and the costs thereof we are temporarily (At least through the summer of 2009) not providing behavioral services through Turning Point Recovery.
