What to Expect:

All state certified CD agencies are required to complete a formal assessment of potential patients. The assessment helps guide the matching of patients to proper treatment. While we use the same ASAM (American Society of Addiction Medicine) criteria as do other agencies, we require all patients, if accepted into our care, to have a medical consultation by a physician specializing in addiction medicine. This consultation does not replace regular medical care or evaluation by a primary care provider. Rather, it assures that our patients know what might be done medically and psychiatrically to improve the outcomes for our patients.

State certified CD treatment facilities are highly regulated. Most state requirements involve extra documentation and the protection of patient rights though some extra testing such as tuberculosis screening may be required.
